Who Uses TypingWeb?

Featured Client Testimonial

As a middle school technology teacher, I have used high priced, server licensed keyboarding software in the past. I found these programs sometimes difficult to install. I also found the client side programs became outdated fairly quickly, making the cost of ownership quite high. Once the initial software was purchased I was asked to continually update to the latest version of the software to keep the software running on the current OS or to keep up to date with the current keyboard teaching strategies they defined. Of course those updates are always quite pricy. I knew the answer to this dilemma was to find a web based typing program. I did my research, narrowed my selection down to 3 programs and tried the trial version of each one. I found TypingWeb to be far superior in ease of use for the students and me, in administration, in the ability to customize for individual students and in support (especially support)!

Before I laud the program I must say something about the support I received from the TypingWeb staff. They answer every question I posed them quickly and professionally. I was very pleased at the willingness to take suggestions and actually make changes to the program to accommodate my needs. Never have I experienced this high level of customer support from any company until now.

First, the online format is perfect for schools. With so many of my students wired at home, and the ability for students to go to the local library and have access to the Internet, I can assign keyboarding practice as homework and be confident that I am getting a true account of what students do at home. Students being able to log into their accounts at home means parents don't need to purchase software for home use. Students are highly motivated to go home, log on, and work beyond what I ask them to do. Many of them are excited to show off newfound skills and knowledge to mom and dad.

Because the software is web based, it is cross platform. I run a Mac network at school, but many of my students have PCs at home. With TypingWeb, this is not a problem. Every one of my students is able to access their account, no matter what platform he/she is using at home.

TypingWeb is more customizable than any other program I have used. The students appreciate the ability to choose from a selection of skins and I appreciate the ability to create lessons and post them to our account.

And finally, the true test of any program, be it software or peopleware, is its effectiveness. Every one of my students made at least a 50% jump in speed and accuracy in the first term; many of my students experienced over 100% improvement.

I thought TypingWeb was a good place to practice typing. I think this because I used to hunt and peck and now I don't look at my hands or my keyboard. It also helped me type faster. This is why I think TypingWeb.com is a good place to learn to type.

My experience with TypingWeb was pretty darn good. I went from like 7 words per minute to like 27 words per minute. It was a good thing because it will probably help me in my future.

TypingWeb is a good program for building confidence in your ability to type. As you get better you advance in the program and it gives you necessary skills that you will need to type in the real world ...

My experience with TypingWeb was pretty good. I learned a lot of ways to improve my accuracy and speed. I learned correct posture and finger placing. I also memorized where all the keys are so when I'm typing I go much faster and with far better accuracy than I have ever done before. I liked the games every once in a while. I am glad that I learned how to type quickly and correctly.

I really liked TypingWeb. TypingWeb really helped me improve my speed. It also made me want to try harder and get a better grade. The lessons were fun to type about and they helped me a lot.

In keyboarding I learned how to type and not look at my fingers. It is still hard not to look at my fingers, but if I force myself then I can do it. I also learned how to type faster; I used to type 15 words per minute but now I type about 30 words per minute. To me typing has always been fun so this is my favorite class. TypingWeb was the best program I have ever participated in.

I liked TypingWeb a lot! The reason why is I started out at 2 words per minute and now I'm at 19 words per minute.

I thought that TypingWeb was a good program. I increased my speed by fifteen wpm. It helped me learn the basic skills of typing. It helped me learn speed as well as accuracy. It showed my problem keys so I could practice on my problems.

I think that TypingWeb has a great layout and it helped me start to type a lot better. The program is a lot better than any others that I have used or seen; like the one at my house that is impossible to learn while using it because of how weird the format and layout is. It also made me like typing a lot more than I have ever liked it before. This program is amazing and I wish we could still use it instead of Word.

I thought TypingWeb was a very good site for learning to type. Not just because of the games, but for the learning experience. And also, we didn't even get to play the fun games a lot.

My experience in TypingWeb was really good. I learned a lot about typing and I had a little bit of fun with it, but not as much as I would have liked. Other than that, it was pretty good. My speed started out with 5 words per minute and now I can type about 30 - 32 words per minute. My accuracy also improved a lot. If I could I would like to keep typing on TypingWeb and practice a little harder.

TypingWeb was a great program that made my speed and accuracy increase greatly. It taught me to have the correct fingers on the correct key. I learned a lot from TypingWeb and I am glad that we got to use it.

TypingWeb helped me a lot and I got faster within the first week of working with it...

TypingWeb, I think, was a great way to learn typing skills in a fun and easy environment. It had many different ways to learn typing such as the normal lessons, the letter program, and even typing games. Some of the lessons were a little long, but all in all it was a great tool.

I really liked the program TypingWeb. It really helped me to improve my accuracy and my speed. At the beginning of the year I was typing 16 words a minute. Now I am typing around 45 words per minute. When I do my homework now on the computer I get it done faster because of how much practice I have done on TypingWeb. TypingWeb is a great program and I think that our school should definitely use it next year for keyboarding class.
